Pray Through My Medium

A sick friend asked me to pray for her.  However,  there was a condition involved. She wanted me to pray through her therapist who was a  medium.

I replied, “But I already have a medium!  Jesus Christ said, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father but through Me.’  So you see,  Jesus is my medium.  When I pray through Jesus I have a direct connection with God.”

She frowned, “Well, I met Jesus once.  He was a sad and lonely man.  He made me the same.”

I smiled.  “I met Jesus too!  He forgave my sins and filled me with His Holy Spirit so I would have peace, joy and love.  He has remained with me all these years.”

“Oh.” She was quiet a moment.  “Well then, go ahead and pray.”

So I did.  When I left the room I overheard her tell the therapist, “I think Kathleen is on a higher level than we are.”

  •  Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.    John 14:6

About Kathleen

God delights in working through His people as they submit to Him. Jesus said to go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone (Mark 16:15).

No matter where we live on this planet, people are separated from God because of sin. We ALL need a Savior, and there’s only ONE.

It brings me great joy to share Christ with the lost and lonely. Over the years I’ve learned a great deal while facilitating Bible studies. I’ve found myself on college and university campuses, the beach, the streets, the hospital, the jail and the juvenile facility for incarcerated teens sharing God’s message of love. I also serve as an online missionary with Global Media Outreach. I’ve seen countless lives transformed when people turn away from sin and turn to Jesus. The changes God makes are real and lasting. These are some of my experiences.

The only thing required here is a custom fitted “medium” sized straight-jacket for the therapist. She is dangerous!

  2. Anthony says:

    “Strong Delusion” 2Thessalonians 2:11
“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:”
Whatever sickness the friend is suffering from pales in comparison to having no “relationship” with the ultimate healer and physician Jesus.
“Which is easier, to say, Your sins be forgiven you; or to say, Rise up and walk?”
    Luke 5:23
Addressing the symptoms and not going to the root of the disease is of no avail to anyone.
Matthew 18:8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.”
Cast “said” therapist from thee as if an offensive fleshly member such as a hand or foot that causes her to stumble and repent/renounce pagan rituals (mediums).
“Seek ye’ first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”
    Matthew 6:33

    • Anthony says:

Best regards to your friend. I’ll be joining you in praying for her.
There is hope for the friend seeking in earnest though perhaps confused and being misguided…but woe be to the medium leading the patient astray.

    • Kathleen says:

Thank you for the excellent Scriptures that address this subject. I wish you had been with me that day!

  3. Lena says:

I love your answer! I know someone who said she visited a Christian fortune teller. I thought, “What? How is that even possible?” I have thought about that conversation several times and tried to replace my, “oh…wow” with the words I think God really would have me say. I hope next time I have the courage and strength to answer the way you did! 🙂

    • Kathleen says:

I’ve been there Lena! So often we come away with regrets that we didn’t say what needed to be said. 2 Timothy 2:15 says, “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman who needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” I have found myself, after such a failure, returning home to study so I’ll be better prepared next time.

  4. Kelly says:

What a great (and quick) response. Hopefully your friend will want to engage in conversation about the Truth and her heart will be softened to His calling. Thanks for sharing!

  5. Anthony says:

No, you don’t wish that…trust I’m telling you the truth, I’d have sent “Endor”-a packin’!

  6. Lezlie says:

Wow, you really handled that so well. I am around a lot of New Age people in Hollywood so I’ll have to remember that simple and wise response that you you used :).

    • Kathleen says:

Thank you Lezlie and Kelly! Yes it was a quick response!
It was strange when that particular verse popped into my head.
I do believe it was from the Lord. He does things like that!

  7. Mark says:

yet another example of how the enemy, who cannot hope to destroy the one true mediator that God gave us, can only hope to lead us away from him. Hopefully, these are two more souls that God has reclaimed through your faithful witnessing!

  8. Mark says:

enjoyed the song today too! 🙂

  9. Liana says:

May the Lord open the eyes of all concerned … your friend, the therapist and anyone involved in that practice. I pray that a seed of conviction has been planted in the sick one.

  10. Dixie says:

Love it!!! Jesus is our medium! Will remember that one for sure!!! Your posts are a blessing!

  11. Debbie says:

Given the responses, I would have to say that your answers were guided by the Holy Spirit and were the perfect witness of what we have in Jesus Christ: access to the throne of grace and mercy and joy in the presence of our Savior!

  12. Frank King says:

Excellent response, Kathleen. Your friend is right. Christ puts us on a higher level. God has exalted His name above every other name!

  13. Kathleen says:

I believe God revealed that truth to her. Indeed, God has exalted His name above every other name.
