Muslim Student from Senegal

We were on a crowded train in France when I found an empty seat next to a university student from Senegal.

He ignored me until I said, “Bonjour!” I then offered him a “Good News” comic book in French.

He said, “Parlez-Vous Francais?”

I smiled, “Anglais.”

He quietly read the booklet. When he finished he said,  “This is important information!      I am a Muslim and we too believe in Jesus. This tells the importance of making ourselves ready for the next life.  This life we now live is only temporary.  Please!  I would like to send this to my wife in Senegal.”

I said, “Please do.”

With his permission, I wrote two websites on the back of the booklet: www.MuslimJourneytoHope.com   and Godlife.com/ .  Then he took out his wallet and showed me pictures of his new baby.

“Thank You, Lord, for arranging this meeting and giving this precious young man an open heart.”

About Kathleen

God delights in working through His people as they submit to Him. Jesus said to go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone (Mark 16:15).

No matter where we live on this planet, people are separated from God because of sin. We ALL need a Savior, and there’s only ONE.

It brings me great joy to share Christ with the lost and lonely. Over the years I’ve learned a great deal while facilitating Bible studies. I’ve found myself on college and university campuses, the beach, the streets, the hospital, the jail and the juvenile facility for incarcerated teens sharing God’s message of love. I also serve as an online missionary with Global Media Outreach. I’ve seen countless lives transformed when people turn away from sin and turn to Jesus. The changes God makes are real and lasting. These are some of my experiences.

Kathleen – I enjoyed reading about this story and your interaction with the student from Senegal. Also enjoyed hearing how God was at work as well as your availability to him.

  2. Liana says:

Praise God for that empty seat Kathleen. May another heart/family hearts be filled with the presence of Jesus because of your presence there.

    • Kathleen says:

I hadn’t thought of that, Liana! Praise God for the empty seat that just happened to be next to that precious young man. Oh, that God would use that little booklet in Senegal to bring many to a saving faith in Christ.

I have heard that God is moving mightily among the Muslims…even to the point of giving them dreams of who Jesus really is, and not who they were taught He is….amazing!! Again I think you are a true evangelist, and thank you for your ministry to the world!!

    • Kathleen says:

Thank you Dixie. Yes, God is using dreams in these last days. We have the promise in Jeremiah 29:13, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” I believe this promise is for all people everywhere.

Thank you for the resources, the links that you gave the man from Senegal. I will check them out and try to memorize the url’s so that I can pass them on to others when opportunity knocks.

An empty seat on a crowded train. Based on what transpired, looks like God had that seat reserved for you. It is an awesome thing that no matter where we are or go, God provides opportunities for us to sow seeds into the hearts of men.
