About Kathleen

God delights in working through His people as they submit to Him. Jesus said to go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone (Mark 16:15). No matter where we live on this planet, people are separated from God because of sin. We ALL need a Savior, and there’s only ONE. It brings me great joy to share Christ with the lost and lonely. Over the years I’ve learned a great deal while facilitating Bible studies. I’ve found myself on college and university campuses, the beach, the streets, the hospital, the jail and the juvenile facility for incarcerated teens sharing God’s message of love. I also serve as an online missionary with Global Media Outreach. I’ve seen countless lives transformed when people turn away from sin and turn to Jesus. The changes God makes are real and lasting. These are some of my experiences. NOTE: My stories have been altered, removing any and all identifying factors. This includes names and other particulars in order to protect confidentiality and anonymity.

Teen: I’m Ready This Time!

Another memory from my years doing prison ministry: I had some precious teenagers that night at the juvenile hall.  One 17-year-old said he remembered me from the last time he was incarcerated: “You asked me then if I wanted Christ … Continue reading

Dial-A-Story for Kids

Our kids enjoyed talking on the phone when they were small.  Years ago children could Dial-A-Story and listen to a recorded Bible story provided by Child Evangelism Fellowship. The story changed weekly. I used to have Dial-A-Story and its phone number … Continue reading

Talking About Jesus – On a Plane

I was sitting next to a man on a plane—said his name was Bill.  It was a short, one-hour flight. I was a new Christian and wanted to share the Lord with him. But what would I say? Whatever I … Continue reading

No Becomes YES!

Another precious memory from jail ministry: Remember Jose, the 20-year-old who came to Christ at the county jail?  His cellmate was Stephen,  an angry young man. Every week I would talk with Jose through the small pass-through opening in his door. … Continue reading

One-Year-Old Prisoner!

Teen’s Baptism Experience

As an online missionary with GMO (Global Media Outreach), most of my contacts are from overseas—but not all. “Grace” is a delightful 15-year-old from New Jersey, who has been growing in her faith. Recently she expressed a desire to be … Continue reading

Does Prayer Work?

My friend Crystal sent out an urgent prayer request via email. Her adult son is afflicted with severe tinnitus—ringing in the ears.  He is not a follower of Jesus. John’s tinnitus began three years ago, but at this time it’s so … Continue reading

A Friend Died Today

What a shock to receive an early morning text from her daughter: “My mom passed away at 5:30 AM today.  Thank you for being her friend.” Sue was a dear friend.  We exercised together and sometimes walked on the beach … Continue reading

Alone With 18 Male Prisoners

A memorable experience from my years doing jail ministry: When it comes to incarcerated adults, I believe women should mentor women and men should mentor men. One day that changed for me. The chaplain was short of male facilitators and … Continue reading
