God Woke Me Up

While studying 2 Corinthians, I became intrigued with 2 Cor 3:13-16.  One night I even dreamed about these verses!  Then God woke me up!  I knew then He wanted me to share an idea He was giving me to help the unsaved.

Most of us know at least one person whom we love that does not know the Lord. Often these people are familiar with the Bible.  They’ve heard the gospel message, yet they choose not to believe it.

The most important thing we can do is to pray for them and recognize their minds and their hearts are incapable of understanding and loving God and His Word.  Why is that?

In John 6:44  Jesus said, “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me, draws him.”  So the first thing we might pray is that God the Father would draw this person to Himself.

The second reason they cannot experience God’s truth and love is from what I read in 2 Corinthians 3:13-16 (NLT):  “We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory, even though it was destined to fade away. But the people’s minds were hardened, and to this day whenever the old covenant is being read, the same veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth. And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ. Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand. But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

My idea–and I believe it is from the Lord–is that we speak to our loved one.  We might say the following:  “I understand that you and I do not share the same love for God and the Bible.  I know that.  But if you ever have a desire to know if there is a God and what His will is for your life, the Bible says that first you need to come to Jesus.  Only then will God open your mind and heart.  Right now you are closed.  I believe someday you will recognize that you need God in your life.  You will realize you’ve ignored Jesus Christ for too long.

“When that day comes, I’m going to give you three sentences that you can say:                     1.  Jesus, I’m calling on Your name.                                                                                                 2.  Jesus, if You are real, then show me.                                                                                            3.  Help my unbelief.

“Only when you come to Jesus will your heart and mind begin to receive full understanding.  Come to Jesus and live.”

This life is temporary. This life is short.  When this life is over, our bodies will die and become empty shells, but our souls will continue to live forever.  Where will the “real you” live?  Will you live for all eternity separated from God?  Or will you spend eternity in the presence of God in heaven?   Learn more so you can make your most important decision:   http://www.godlife.com/gospel/  and  godlife.com

About Kathleen

God delights in working through His people as they submit to Him. Jesus said to go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone (Mark 16:15). No matter where we live on this planet, people are separated from God because of sin. We ALL need a Savior, and there’s only ONE. It brings me great joy to share Christ with the lost and lonely. Over the years I’ve learned a great deal while facilitating Bible studies. I’ve found myself on college and university campuses, the beach, the streets, the hospital, the jail and the juvenile facility for incarcerated teens sharing God’s message of love. I also serve as an online missionary with Global Media Outreach. I’ve seen countless lives transformed when people turn away from sin and turn to Jesus. The changes God makes are real and lasting. These are some of my experiences. NOTE: My stories have been altered, removing any and all identifying factors.
