Has Following Jesus Changed You?

“Has following Jesus Christ changed you?  If so, how?”  As an online missionary with Global Media Outreach (GMO), this question was directed to a contact.  Her response:

“I used to stress about my life, money and relationships. I used to feel lonely, blaming myself, easily tempted, angry and judgmental.  I was thinner—very thin with stress.   My family saw that something was wrong as I had lost so much weight but I didn’t share my problems with anyone.  I was going to church physically but not spiritually. My focus was on fleshly things and evil desires.

“But gratefully,  God changed me into a new person.  Since I began to follow Jesus Christ,  I consult Him on everything.  I love Him and I trust Him. He delivered me, saved me, and removed my burdens from me.  I feel relieved. He made me humble, patient and caring. I have love for everyone and I thank God for delivering and saving me.  I don’t deserve it. I disobeyed Him. I am nothing without Him. Thank you Lord, and thank You for Your Holy Spirit who guides me every day.”

Wow!  What a wonderful, supernatural change in this young woman’s life!  I remember many years ago when Jesus Christ changed my own life in a most dramatic way.  Her story is similar to mine.

How about you? Has following Jesus Christ been life-changing for you?  If so, how?

About Kathleen

God delights in working through His people as they submit to Him. Jesus said to go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone (Mark 16:15). No matter where we live on this planet, people are separated from God because of sin. We ALL need a Savior, and there’s only ONE. It brings me great joy to share Christ with the lost and lonely. Over the years I’ve learned a great deal while facilitating Bible studies. I’ve found myself on college and university campuses, the beach, the streets, the hospital, the jail and the juvenile facility for incarcerated teens sharing God’s message of love. I also serve as an online missionary with Global Media Outreach. I’ve seen countless lives transformed when people turn away from sin and turn to Jesus. The changes God makes are real and lasting. These are some of my experiences. NOTE: My stories have been altered, removing any and all identifying factors. Praise God for that wonderful testimony. As for me, first, Jesus changed my life – he redeemed me (and if I were in that position…there is no way I would redeem me) now I follow him because he changed my life. I am no longer the man I was because now I am redeemed! Good song Kathleen!

  2. Tawana says:

    Hey Kathleen!
What a BEAUTIFULLY written response and article! And amen to that!
Following Christ has changed me drastically. My life is His. I would say it’s more of HIM showing Himself to me than is it me first, on my part, following Him. It only takes Christ and His beauty and radiance to manifest itself as I then “choose” to follow Him…which at this point I don’t think there’s a ‘choice’ as there’s none other that’s greater than the Savior’s love. I “choose” Christ! 🙂
    Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Tawana, for sharing a bit of your own story. Truly, it not our doing. HE does the changing. God bless you my friend!

  3. Frank K says:

Kathleen, I love the written response of the GMO contact. What she says about the change Christ has made in her life resonates with anyone who has truly met Him. No one meets the Lord and remains the same after the meeting. I continue to be amazed at the change Christ has made in my life.

    • Kathleen says:

Thank you, Pastor Frank! I so agree! I too continue to be amazed at the change Christ made in my life–and continues to make.

  4. Liana says:

One of the loveliest testimonies I have read/heard Kathleen. You can almost see the change in her from darkness into light. Praise God for the beautiful way in which He transforms lives.
