Sunday Morning Church via Laptop?

It was Sunday morning and we were vacationing with our son’s family.  He had done an online search for a good Bible-centered church and found one 45-minutes away.

But wait.  Did we want to drive 45 minutes? We soon discovered that said church could be watched LIVE via the internet!  So that’s what we did!  We attended church right in our rental house with the laptop on the center of the dining table.

The worship was excellent—even the grandkids were singing along to the familiar lyrics!

The Calvary Chapel pastor was doing an in-depth study on the book of Daniel.  It was a powerful message we could all apply to our lives.

When the service ended we discovered over 1400 people had watched the same service LIVE, worldwide! Demographics showed the highest concentration of viewers were in the US, the Caribbean and Western Europe. We read the comments and questions from viewers, and the responses from church-appointed moderators!  How interesting was that!

“Thank You, God, for modern technology that takes Your Word worldwide!”

About Kathleen

God delights in working through His people as they submit to Him. Jesus said to go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone (Mark 16:15). No matter where we live on this planet, people are separated from God because of sin. We ALL need a Savior, and there’s only ONE. It brings me great joy to share Christ with the lost and lonely. Over the years I’ve learned a great deal while facilitating Bible studies. I’ve found myself on college and university campuses, the beach, the streets, the hospital, the jail and the juvenile facility for incarcerated teens sharing God’s message of love. I also serve as an online missionary with Global Media Outreach. I’ve seen countless lives transformed when people turn away from sin and turn to Jesus. The changes God makes are real and lasting. These are some of my experiences. NOTE: My stories have been altered, removing any and all identifying factors. This includes names and other particulars in order to protect confidentiality and anonymity.

Thank you Everest! I’m so glad the music is ministering to you. I appreciate the encouragement. BTW, I’ve heard some pretty good Christian Rap!

Kathleen, Thank you for this message. I appreciated your struggle on whether to share with the person and then stumbling with the message. It reminded me of my own difficulty in sharing the Gospel of Christ.
Keep up the good work. GBY! Roy

Yes, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, most of us are doing online services–at least for now. I thank God for this powerful use of the internet.
