Jesus Save Me!

I  was asked to visit a very ill 95-year-old woman.  She was hard of hearing and I knew her time was short.

I asked her if she knew Jesus and she yelled her reply, “No! But I’d like to!”

I asked if she were to die, does she know where she’d go?
She yelled again, “Probably hell!”

I loudly explained, “Jesus loves you and wants you to be with Him in heaven someday.  If you are willing to turn from your sins and follow Jesus, the Bible tells us that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.  Would you like to do that?”

She yelled so loudly, I’m sure she was heard outside: “JESUS SAVE ME!”

That was it. I don’t know what’s in her past. Only God knows her heart. But according to Scripture I believe she is saved. The Holy Spirit is now free to indwell her and make changes in the way she thinks and acts.  It is never too late.

Have you ever prayed with someone to receive Christ?  Would you have handled this situation differently?

This life is temporary.  This life is short.  When this life is over, our bodies will die and become empty shells, but our souls will continue to live forever.  Where will the “real you” live?  Will you live for all eternity separated from God?  Or will you spend eternity in the presence of God in heaven?   Learn more so you can make your most important decision:   http://www.godlife.com/gospel/  and  http://www.godlife.com/en/about-christianity

About Kathleen

God delights in working through His people as they submit to Him. Jesus said to go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone (Mark 16:15). No matter where we live on this planet, people are separated from God because of sin. We ALL need a Savior, and there’s only ONE. It brings me great joy to share Christ with the lost and lonely. Over the years I’ve learned a great deal while facilitating Bible studies. I’ve found myself on college and university campuses, the beach, the streets, the hospital, the jail and the juvenile facility for incarcerated teens sharing God’s message of love. I also serve as an online missionary with Global Media Outreach. I’ve seen countless lives transformed when people turn away from sin and turn to Jesus. The changes God makes are real and lasting. These are some of my experiences. NOTE: My stories have been altered, removing any and all identifying factors. What a beautiful child-like acceptance of Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour.

After long years of otherwise very useful theological studies, I have just lately discovered how simple it is. In the first century when it grew a lot, the church did not have the Bible. The New Testament was not even written and canonized yet. Outside Israel the Old Testament was not known to gentiles. The disciples simply gave their testimonies, and performed miracles in the name of Jesus–and they of course worked. People knew there had to be one God, and they had to settle with Him. They were happy to take the opportunity.

I have prayed with many people to accept Christ, but none at the age of 90. I like the opening questions you asked her. And I agree that receiving Christ is a simple thing if the heart is truly ready.
