I was shopping for a gift from a wedding registry. The sales clerk was most helpful. She actually invited me into her office while she ordered the gift for me.
I complimented her on her beautiful tan. She explained she’s a single mom of two little boys. On her off days she takes them to the beach or the park where they play together in the sunshine.
She was open about her life so I asked about the children’s father. She said they’d been married 13 years when she discovered he was using drugs. Currently he’s in a one-year program at a rehabilitation center. She said her in-laws have been most helpful during this difficult time.
I asked if she had a faith background where she could get spiritual support. “I attend a program for families of addicts, which is held in a church facility, but that’s all.”
I told her I had a little booklet in my purse that she might find encouraging. It’s called Would You Like to Know God Personally? I handed it to her.
She looked through it. “I’d like to read this.”
I told her she could also get some free online spiritual support from Global Media Outreach. I wrote out the website: http://www.godlife.com. She asked some questions and said she would check it out. She seemed genuinely grateful.
I liked her very much. When I left I knew she would have my prayers.
I intend to return to the store and follow-up.

I wish someone had taken that kind of interest in me as a 20 year old single mom…..or at any age while I was a single mom which was the entire time of motherhood for me.
But God is faithful, my friend! He brought you through it and look what He’s doing with your life now!

Thank you for stopping by Kristi!
Beautiful and inspiring! How many times have we missed divine appointments to witness the message of hope and love that the world without Jesus so desperately need. I pray for this sales clerk. That she may find strength and hope in God and His word. That He may restore her marriage and that her family may experience the saving grace of our Lord.
It is moments like these that God grants us the opportunity to shine like the lighthouses we are. May you continue to be sensitive to the voice of the Spirit and may God continue to guide you to those who need to see His light! Blessings sister.
Thank you, Joe! I know I have missed opportunities. I think what’s important is being prepared with a couple tracts available to share. And then, prayerfully keeping alert and watchful for opportunities. Thank you for your prayers!
Thats beautiful. We are indeed the light of the world. Thanks for sharing.
Amen, Bisi! Thanks for stopping by!
