One day while shopping in a popular chain store I noticed a sales clerk looking at me and smiling. Later, I moved a few aisles over and there she was again—looking my way and smiling.
Finally she came up and said, “ I recognize you. You’re Kathleen.”
I smiled, “Yes! And you look familiar, but I don’t remember where we met.”
She came up close and whispered, “I was in jail and you came. Thank you for coming. It was people like you who made all the difference. By the way, I took your advice.”
“Oh?”
“You said when we get out we should find a church with a good Bible study and start going. So I did. I’ve been in Bible study for over a year. I love my church and my new friends! Because of Jesus I have a good job and I’ve been clean and sober for 18 months!”
I said, “You just made my day!” Then I gave her a hug. “Thank you for telling me what Jesus has done in your life. None of our problems are too big for Him.”
- I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. Matthew 25:36
- SONG: GIVE ME A HEART – Lyrics by Liana Wendy Howarth, Music by Kathleen
GOD’S timing is perfect. Just when u needed encouragement HE’S there. The great joy of being at the FATHER’S WORK!
You are correct, David! There is no greater joy than being at our Father’s work–and seeing Him change people.
Praise God for this beautiful testimony Kathleen.
Thank you, Liana. Praise God indeed!
