Jesus Appears in a Dream

My friend Faye has a remarkable story. She was born into a Muslim family in a Muslim-majority country. Her parents immigrated to the US when she was nine.  She attended American schools and became a medical doctor.

She followed the Islamic religion but said, “God was not in it.” She began to explore other religions. She became involved in Zen Buddhism and the New Age Movement, “but I still could not find God.”

One night she prayed, “God, if You are there, please show me how to find You.”

That night she had a dream. In the dream her brother pointed to Jesus and said, “It is Him.” She said Jesus appeared as a bright glowing figure and came toward her. He came closer and then seemed to float into her heart.  She immediately awoke.  She knew it was a dream, yet it was also reality.

The next morning she purchased a Bible and began reading in Genesis. She read the entire Old Testament. She said that when she began reading the New Testament it “came alive.” She surrendered her life to Jesus Christ while reading the Gospels.  Her life was forever changed from that moment on.

She made Jesus Christ the Lord of her life.  She knew He had forgiven her sins and she experienced His love, joy and peace.  She had a new purpose in life and that was to please and honor God.  She found a church that teaches the Bible and became involved. That was 25 years ago and she’s never looked back.

  • You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.   Jeremiah 29:13
  •  Buddha made this famous statement toward the end of his life: “I’m still searching for the truth.”  Muhammad said, “I am a prophet of the truth.”  The Veda says, “Truth is elusive, it’s like a butterfly, you’ve got to search for it.”  Then Jesus Christ comes and says, “I am the truth.”    Pastor Rick Warren, Newsweek Magazine 4/8/07

About Kathleen

God delights in working through His people as they submit to Him. Jesus said to go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone (Mark 16:15). No matter where we live on this planet, people are separated from God because of sin. We ALL need a Savior, and there’s only ONE. It brings me great joy to share Christ with the lost and lonely. Over the years I’ve learned a great deal while facilitating Bible studies. I’ve found myself on college and university campuses, the beach, the streets, the hospital, the jail and the juvenile facility for incarcerated teens sharing God’s message of love. I also serve as an online missionary with Global Media Outreach. I’ve seen countless lives transformed when people turn away from sin and turn to Jesus. The changes God makes are real and lasting. These are some of my experiences. NOTE: My stories have been altered, removing any and all identifying factors. Love the reminder that God reveals Himself if we are willing to look for Him! I think he does that way more than we are aware! Thanks Kathleen! Love reading your amazing stories of God drawing people to Himself!

I love your story! And yes, there are actually many Muslims to whom God gives dreams and visions. When we cannot reach them, God does. We live in exciting times! By the way, I heard an interesting presentation on Daniel 11 recently. Islam is part of this. Many good people are Muslims.

    • Kathleen says:

Thank you! I agree that many good people are Muslims. Many good people are also Buddhists, Jews and Hindus. But there is no one good enough to earn their own salvation. We ALL need a Savior…and there is only ONE.

Yes. I have seen Jesus in dreams. Too long to describe here. If you want to really know Jesus, ask him yourself. He is real. He is alive and he is who he said he is. He is waiting for you to call on him right now!

Great post, Kathleen. The Lord is still revealing His Son to those who thirst after Him. As for dreams, I have had a couple of them through which God has given me clear direction in ministry. Our God is awesome.

Yes, our God IS awesome! I recently read that God is appearing in dreams and visions to Muslims around the world. Many are coming to faith in Christ.
