Muslim Woman from Yemen

We had just set up our Bible table on the beach promenade when I met a young Muslim woman from Yemen, wearing a hijab.

When I saw her walking our direction, I stepped forward and introduced myself.  She seemed eager to have a conversation.  I offered her a pamphlet called  Jesus and the Qur’an.

She thanked me and said, “Muslims believe in Jesus, too!”  That’s when she told me she was from Yemen. “My family is there and I worry about them. They’re having a war. There is a famine and a cholera outbreak.”

“Oh my! Would you like us to pray for your family?”

“Yes! Please!”

Several of us gathered around her and prayed that God would protect her family, keep them healthy and meet their needs.  Afterward she shared that while her husband relaxed on the beach, she had decided to take a walk.  She was concerned that they’d been married several years and she had not yet become pregnant.

I said, “That was once my problem too!  I had been married for years and unable to conceive.  Then I began reading the Bible and I fell in love with Jesus. That’s when we discovered I was pregnant and God began to bless us with children. I now believe God was waiting for me to come to know Jesus first!  I don’t know if God will do the same for you, but I do believe God will bless you when you learn more about Jesus.”

She listened. Then I offered her a Jesus movie in Arabic and several more pamphlets about Jesus in the Arabic language.  She was happy!  As she walked away, she repeatedly said, “Thank you for talking to me. Thank you for praying for my family. Thank you for helping me! Thank you, thank you!”

After she left, our team gathered to pray for her again.  “Thank You Lord Jesus, for bringing this precious young women our way.  Speak to her heart as she reads Your Word and watches the Jesus movie.  Begin now to draw her husband to Yourself. May they both soon come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.”

About Kathleen

God delights in working through His people as they submit to Him. Jesus said to go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone (Mark 16:15). No matter where we live on this planet, people are separated from God because of sin. We ALL need a Savior, and there’s only ONE. It brings me great joy to share Christ with the lost and lonely. Over the years I’ve learned a great deal while facilitating Bible studies. I’ve found myself on college and university campuses, the beach, the streets, the hospital, the jail and the juvenile facility for incarcerated teens sharing God’s message of love. I also serve as an online missionary with Global Media Outreach. I’ve seen countless lives transformed when people turn away from sin and turn to Jesus. The changes God makes are real and lasting. These are some of my experiences. NOTE: My stories have been altered, removing any and all identifying factors.
