Muslim Searching for Truth

Recently while traveling, I became acquainted with the manager in our hotel gift shop. He said he was a Muslim from Morocco. I asked him a few questions about his country and about his faith. He said he used to be religious, but now he was unsure of the truth of his religion and was searching.

I had a booklet in my purse called, Would You Like to Know God Personally?  I asked if I could give it to him.

He flipped through it and said,  “I would very much like to read this.”

The next day I again stopped in the gift shop.  He said, “I read your booklet—and  I thought about it all day and all night!”

I then told him I wanted to give him a gift. “We just so happen to have an extra Bible in our car—may I give it to you?”

I had written inside the back cover, the website for Global Media Outreach: .  I told him he would find help at this site. There would even be a free online mentor available to answer his questions and give him guidance. He was happy for the information.

He was smiling as he thumbed through his new Bible. He said he had never read any part of the Bible before.  I suggested he start reading in the book of John.  He said he would.

About Kathleen

God delights in working through His people as they submit to Him. Jesus said to go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone (Mark 16:15). No matter where we live on this planet, people are separated from God because of sin. We ALL need a Savior, and there’s only ONE. It brings me great joy to share Christ with the lost and lonely. Over the years I’ve learned a great deal while facilitating Bible studies. I’ve found myself on college and university campuses, the beach, the streets, the hospital, the jail and the juvenile facility for incarcerated teens sharing God’s message of love. I also serve as an online missionary with Global Media Outreach. I’ve seen countless lives transformed when people turn away from sin and turn to Jesus. The changes God makes are real and lasting. These are some of my experiences. NOTE: My stories have been altered, removing any and all identifying factors. What a clear message you used to tell the Muslim about your faith and his need for it.
“For such a time as this” comes to my mind and I thank God for His perfect timing.

It is encouraging that here is a Muslim who is open to searching for truth! I pray I will have the courage to discuss religion and faith with a Muslim someday. Now I just need to get some of those tracts you have so I can be prepared. I already have the Bibles in stock.

Yes, it WAS encouraging. I’m sure there are countless people searching for the truth. We need to keep prayerful, alert and watchful so we can be ready at all times.

The Holy Spirit is at work in the hearts of men–even today. God paves the way for encounters like this one you had with the Muslim. We must be ready to seize those moments just as you did.

Thanks Frank! I agree, it’s important to be ready. That’s why I carry an extra Bible in my car and a couple of tracts in my purse!
