What a precious few days I spent with a former roommate and dear friend from nursing school. Over the years we kept in touch and even traveled great distances to get together with our husbands and families.
This however, was the first time to spend quality time alone. This was also the first time we’d been together since her husband’s passing. It was a time to reflect on memories and happier days. We talked, we walked on the beach, we shed some tears, we laughed hard and most importantly, we prayed together.
On our last morning together we walked along the beach and shared the Lord with tourists as we went. She let me know from the start that this was way outside her comfort zone. But Hey! I still had a stack of tracts I didn’t want to bring home! She was a good sport and we did have fun!
We met lots of friendly people—interesting people from different countries. Two even invited us to go with them on a fast banana boat! Would we have had such an invitation had we not been adventurous? God is so good!
I’m glad we used our last day doing something so important. After all, we are all sinners and we all need the Lord. Everywhere we go, everyone we see is going to spend eternity in hell—IF they don’t have a Savior—and there’s only ONE.

[This life is temporary. This life is short. When this life is over, our bodies will die and become empty shells, but our souls will continue to live forever. Where will the “real you” live? Will you live for all eternity separated from God? Or will you spend eternity in the presence of God in heaven? I believe you’re right, Kathleen. It’s more a command than a gift. Satan has convinced many that evangelism is not their gift. But God’s Word says, “I can do ALL things through Christ who strenghtens me.” Just do it. God will see you through and you will be amazed at the blessings you receive. In Him, Dave
Thank you Dave. And Amen!
Thank you for sharing and using your gift God has given you.
H, Thank you! I don’t think of it as a gift, as much as a simple love for people and making the most of the opportunities set before us daily.
Kath….I loved your blog and treasure the time we spent together with love, laughter, tears, reminiscing and prayers. The only thing we could have done without were the ankle bites from the “sand fleas.”
Next time it’s your turn to come to our house! XXOO
Praise God…….no matter where we are, who we are with, we need to live our lives with God at the center of all. Sounds like a very good vacation – with a purpose indeed! 🙂

We both agree on this for sure!
Another beautiful leaf in the story of your ministering journey Kathleen …
A beautiful leaf indeed. Such a poet!
